255 - Waiting

I like to make my plans as early as possible. All my coping mechanisms compel me to figure out every detail in plenty of time to get used to them. I don't like surprises, but life is surprising, unguaranteed. Even when we plan to plan, outside forces can get the upper hand.

Two Hundred Fifty-Five

Waiting

We are waiting.
We are suspended on decision's edge;
Circumstance detains our plans,
Calm us, Holy One, give us patience.

There were times inertia delayed our evolution,
We turned explanation into excuse;
Now we must relinquish control,
We must trust only in Your faithfulness.

Protect us from disappointment,
Garner our acceptance;
We are waiting, we are hoping:
Strengthen us, support us.
