244 - A Song of Healing

I dropped in on a Havdallah on-line chat last week. There was the usual "where are you?" queries, a lengthy conversation on where to buy menšs hats, and, as it happened, an interesting discussion on petition and prayer. There was also something that Išve become accustomed to: someone who came into the chat to ask for prayers for the recovery of a family member. This time it was someone who had suffered a head injury and was in a coma. Even in cyberspace, there is community.

A Song of Healing

You are with me, Holy One,
Always by my right hand, close to my left hand,
Keeping watch through man-made quiet,
Offering Your strength to my need.
Visions of shalom shall hold me,
A perfect and complete healing,
Healing for Your namešs sake.

Let days of love remind me,
Even as I silently dream,
Assured of Your vigilance,
Held close in Your hand.

Bring me through endless time
Aligned to You in faithfulness,
Tight bound to You in holiness.

Search through these nights and these days,
All terror eased,
Restless hours stilled
As I trust in Your loving care,
Held tight to Your kind regard.
