227 - Before a Doctor's Visit

I have been blessed with a physician of rare quality, integrity and humanity. He even makes house calls - especially when he knows how difficult it would be for me to go to his office or the hospital. All along, through crisis and times of maintenance, we have worked together. A model, I think, for all patients and their physicians.

Two Hundred Twenty-Seven

Before a Doctor's Visit

Help me form a partnership,
Honest and abiding:
You, Divine Healer, my physician and I,
Together seeking answers.

Give us the gift of patience
As we labor toward wellness;
Define for us the small steps
That beckon us onward.

Today, let this collaboration
Bring me closer to health,
Let it stabilize and clarify
My yearning for wholeness.
