On April 8, 2002 I experienced an awakening that started me on a journey of freedom from alcoholism.

I joined alcoholics anonymous and began learning about my higher power. In this process I have been reading a book written by Dr. Emmett Fox, Power Through Constructive Thinking.
Dr. Fox has the Lords Prayer and a selection of Psalms that he refers to as spiritual treatments.
As I have read, meditated and prayed for a consious connection with God, I have begun to experience an incredible sense of peace, joy and compassion.

Since reading this book, I have begun reading the Psalms from my Bible. I feel the treatment that they offer and I know that my problems of character throughout my life have been a result of fear, ego and pride. I don't know what Gods intent is for me and why he chose to rescue me from my adiction. But I believe that I am getting closer to understanding Gods will for me. Whatever it is and where ever it takes me I know that I have to journey ahead in faith that God will be my refuge. I know that God has sent his angels to take charge over me and lead me in all my affairs.

I am continuing to try to learn about the Psalms which is how I came to this web site. Thank you for being here and posting these daily treatments of our loving God. I hope that more people find the healing qualities of them as I have.

Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, a mystic, taught that ten Biblical psalms, when meditated upon could bring about a complete healing. They are psalms 16, 32, 41, 42, 59, 77, 90, 105, 137, 150. A wonderful explanation can be found in the book: Healing of Soul Healing of Body. A link to this book can be found in the "Books of Psalms" page on this website. It is one of my favorites!
