Let's discus this Psalm.
The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For his name's sake.
Let me start by saying i have not lead or otherwise a discussionlike this, so if you have any tips on how to better my ability worship with you. I would appriciate it.
The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.
I will be returning tomorrow to discuss more. Talk to you all then.
All he does, he does it for us. He will restore our soul in time of great need. Maybe not in the way you might want or expect but in one way or another he does do so. He guides us for his name's sake. He does not guide us for just his sake but for our's as well. If he didn't guide us on the path of rightousness, we would be totally lost. Think of it. If he hadn't given us the Ten Commandments, what would we have based our laws and gov't. on. It would be pointless to base laws on our own morals. First and foremost because the morals we have were given to us by God. Secondly, even today people's morals aren't the same from one person to the next. Thirdly, if there wasn't a god to fear, what's stopping a person from doing what he likes even if the law says he or she can't do it. All it would mean is he would either die and have nothing else to worry about (depending on the situation) or serve his or her jail time and get released at the end of the senence. You see, without God, the world would be just be like, well lets just say we would probably kill ourselves to extinction once we had the technology to do so.
There was also another thing I would like to mention. I watched it on a movie in Sr. high youth s.s. class at church. In order for the "BIG BANG" to happen, something would to have started the process, or something to that effect. Also in order to have a single cell organism come into exsistance and evolve, something had to put it there or create it and start the process in order for it to take place, or something to that effect as well. But enough of that evolution nonesense. We christians know for a fact that all that didn't happen, according to the Bilble. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth. That is all that should satisfy the human race. But in order for most of the human race to believe, they have to see it. But unfortunatly by that time it will be to late. That is the major doenfall to not having faith. I mean, and I'm not trying to sound hypocritical, if there turns out to be no God, what would the harm have been to believe. on the same token, if there really is a God, believing in him with your heart is and was the best thing you could have ever chosen to do.

God is The True Healer
True, so true S.whiteland esq.
I am sitting here tonight at my father's side. He is dying of leukemia and I am waiting for his last breath. I found myself reciting the 23rd Psalms. Truthfully, I had forgotten some of it and got online to read it again. This psalm brings me such peace tonight as I know that Dad is being led beside the still waters and he will dwell in the house of the Lord, forever. As a child I memorized this Psalm but have not put it into use in a long time. I just wanted you to know that this psalms is comforting me right now and I can't imagine how this time would be, if I didn't have God on my side.
Anita if u get this i'm am so glad this little thing here gave up an uplift. I hope comfort comes to your family through your faith.
My grandfather recently passed away due to cirrhosis of the liver. In his last week, he carried a small card with the 23 Psalms everywhere he went. He found comfort in it, and he had it with him at the time he died. The verse has comforted many of us in times of fear and sorrow, and I'm sure it will continue to do so...

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow death, I fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me. Thou dost prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; thou hast anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. surely goodness and loving-kindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amen! Amen!

The Lord is my shepard; WE are the Lord's flock. He gives us what we need to survive. He provides for us.
I shall not want; For then we are telling the Lord that what we need to survive is not good enough. And that is simply not true. We should want only the things we need. Food, water, and our Lord. That is all should want and need.

And in this verse is where it tells you what you need as a member of his flock. Food, and water. He provides for his children. Just as a mother would her children. He gives us what he knows we need to live. And in some instances nothing more than that.
